An exciting industry programme took place on Tuesday 28th August 2018 in the Titanic Belfast, Northern Ireland – considering how Privacy, Security and Trust is reshaping both traditional and emerging industry sectors, with people at the centre. The themes included ‘Trust @60MPH – Securing the Connected Car’, ‘The Human Factor’, and ‘The Future of Privacy, Security & Trust’. We were lucky to be able to engage with a variety of speakers with a wealth of experience in this highly topical subject.
Salt Communications’ Engineering Manager Damian Horner was on the panel ‘The Future of Privacy, Security & Trust – Innovation in PST’. Damian discussed his creation and delivery of the SaltIM Secure Communications platform. He went into further detail of how Salt Communications produces a unique offering – messages and voice calls, with end to end encryption, wrapped in a user friendly, hardened platform. The Salt Communications offering allows users to talk about sensitive issues in complete confidence.
“It was great to be involved in the Privacy, Security and Trust 2018 event this year, and even better to see Belfast getting the recognition it deserves as a destination for those interested in leading edge cyber security technology. Three days of excellent presentations, discussions and thought provoking speeches left the global audience with plenty to ponder. And where better to showcase Northern Ireland’s finest technology than in the wonderful Titanic museum overlooking our historic shipyard,” said Damian Horner, Engineering Manager at Salt Communications.
Salt Communications work closely with The NI Cyber Security Cluster who promote business, innovation and collaboration opportunities with and between cybersecurity companies based in Northern Ireland. The cluster consists of companies developing world-leading cybersecurity technology solutions, across a diverse range of vertical industries including financial trading, banking, insurance, legal, telecoms, defence, security and healthcare. The cluster provides a central point to engage with Northern Ireland’s fast-growing cybersecurity sector, and engage with companies.
“Salt Communications has been involved with the Cyber Security Cluster (https://www.nicyber.tech) from its inception. It has been a great benefit for us as a company – allowing us to meet and share ideas, building lasting relationships with other leading companies in the region. But it’s also giving a unified voice with global reach to the member companies, promoting Northern Ireland as the destination of choice if you’re looking for cutting edge technology, talent or thought leadership in the field of cyber security.” said Damian Horner, Engineering Manager at Salt Communications.
Being able to attend PST was a great opportunity for Salt Communications. Our involvement in the PST International Conference 2018 has highlighted the importance and need for secure communications to people across the globe. We’ve been able to get the message across about how perfectly suited our solution is to companies and bodies in a variety of different industries.
